Despite a few unexpected twists and turns, the 52nd Salt Festival was GREAT!
And when we say unexpected, we mean it. This year, we had music performers cancel, a 5K organizer that disappeared from the radar, a last-minute change in security personnel, unavoidable emergencies that affected the cornhole tournament, a headliner band that changed its arrival time, and a Great Pumpkin Race crew that didn’t realize the ramp had actually arrived! Every one of those situations meant last-minute logistical changes, schedule adjustments, and a whole lot of figuring things out on the fly.
But here’s the thing about the Salt Festival… The things that matter MOST never changed.
Schedules can change. Events can cancel. Plans can fall apart. Ramps can be overlooked — those things can be fixed. What cannot be manufactured is a community that genuinely wants to come together.
This festival is for the people of Grand Saline — and YOU are what made the 52nd Salt Festival a success. The Salt Festival has always been about celebrating our heritage, supporting our community, and creating a place where our citizens can spend a day together and enjoy the town we call home.
To our sponsors, volunteers, board members, vendors, businesses, performers, participants, City employees, and everyone who came out and rolled with the changes — THANK YOU. We appreciate your patience, your flexibility, your support, and most of all, your community spirit.
52 years and still going strong. We’ll see you at the 53rd.
