Three days downtown, from an opening night of gospel to a Saturday that ran from the morning parade clear through to midnight on Frank Street.
Schedules can change. Events can cancel. Plans can fall apart. Ramps can be overlooked — those things can be fixed. What cannot be manufactured is a community that genuinely wants to come together.
The festival opened at the Pavilion with an evening of gospel and praise music — free, full, and a fine way to start a weekend.
Brett Boatman and Billie Jo played the Friday street dance, following the Virginia Milam Southern Luncheon and the grand opening of the EDC Pavilion.
The parade rolling at 9:30 in its new morning slot, the Salt Shakers car show, and more than 52 vendor booths lining downtown all day.
Knox LaPrade, Damon Momon & Cody Paul, and Heather Linn and the Deacons warmed up the street before country legend Tracy Byrd closed out the 52nd Annual.
